Brand New Restaurant in Seattle's Eastlake Neighborhood Gets a Brand New Website
Website Design and Development for Charming and Eclectic Seattle Restaurant
Established restauteurs Jana and Peter decided to expand into Seattle’s Eastlake neighborhood in 2017 with Otter Bar & Burger, a new eatery focused on providing customers with delicious and affordable bites in an attractive family-friendly setting. A casual counter-service business, Otter Bar is a fully licensed restaurant with a passion for all things local; they even have a mural of an Otter plane—once manufactured in the Seattle area and visible to this day around Lake Union—painted on the wall.
The Otter Bar team had big plans for their restaurant, and they came to us looking for a website that would equal that vision.
Website Design and Development Successes
The Otter Bar website was a blast to design and develop. Their team was looking for something fun and funky and we were happy to oblige. We consulted with them on a color palette and they ultimately decided on bold orange and deep greyish green as their primary hues. Our design features both colors heavily throughout the website, though the orange in particular is reserved for spaces we’d like to draw attention to—hours of operation spaces, social media icons, links, buttons, and more.
A big focus for this website was ensuring the architecture was simple to navigate for users visiting on any device. The food menu categories are easy to access and navigate, “Visit Us” links are ubiquitous, and the phone number and other vital information are always within reach.
We also created a blog for the Otter team to share important company news and events, a Takeout & Delivery page for them to leverage those aspects of their business, a custom contact form, and more.
