National Cider Month, launched by Schilling Cider Co in 2022, celebrates the artistry of cidermaking, showcasing cideries and their diverse flavors. At its core, no pun intended, it's a community of passionate cider lovers and makers, dedicated to sharing and elevating the craft of cider across the US.
Goals for Design
For this website design, our main goals included:
- Creating a vibrant and welcoming design to attract and engage visitors
- Enabling national cidery participation through a self-serve platform
- Implementing an efficient event calendar and map
- Designing unique graphics and icons
Website Design & Functionality Highlights
For the design of this website, our design team focused on creating a brand that resonated with the entire cider industry, yet distinct from Schilling's own branding. We chose a color palette of Red Apple, Green Apple, and White, reflecting the industry's vibrancy. Our design included simple yet expressive icons and illustrations of apple trees and fruit, capturing the essence of the cider industry. This approach resulted in a welcoming and unique website, embodying the collaborative spirit of the cider community.
This website was developed using WordPress, known for its user-friendliness and adaptability. We integrated an easy-to-use event calendar and a feature for sorting cideries by state. This setup allowed cideries to add and manage their events easily, making the website a dynamic platform for showcasing cider industry events and encouraging community engagement.
